Welcome Back, Alliance!

Howdy Alliance! I am very excited to get the 2024-2025 season rolling! There will be some changes from last year for this fall season, so please read this whole post carefully

PRACITCE

We will begin practice the second week of school, starting on Tuesday, August 27th. We will hold practice from 4:30-6:30 every Tuesday. I am hoping that a later start time will allow for players to show up on right at start time. Tardiness was a big issue with our team last year, so I really want to emphasize using our entire practice time effectively. Practices will run from August 27th to October 22nd

Practice will be held at the Sandy Promenade in front of Sandy City Hall

10000 S Centennial Pkwy, Sandy UT 84070

If needed, our backup practice field will be Buttercup Park

1501 Buttercup Dr, Sandy, UT 84092

TOURNAMENTS

This fall, UUDA has decided to not sanction league games. Instead, they will be hosting 3 tournaments throughout September and October. However, two of the three tournaments are mixed division only. This means that if we want to play in those tournaments, we are required to have at least 6 female-matching players rostered (right now we have 0). That means RECRUIT! We always can use more players on the team, so bring out your friends!

Sept. 7th – Mixed 5v5 tournament

Centennial Jr. High, Kaysville

Sept. 27th – 28th – Open 7v7 tournament

Legacy Fields, Farmington

Oct. 25th – 26th – Mixed 7v7 tournament

Epic sports park, Provo

As of right now, I am only planning on signing us up for the open 7v7 tournament in Farmington. I will send out more information about the tournaments as we approach those dates

GAMES

To compensate for the lack of games this fall, many of the coaches themselves have put together team-mix scrimmages every Wednesday from 4:30-7:00pm at Riverside Park. These will NOT be UUDA sanctioned games. Instead, all high school level players of any skill are invited out to practice and play with other high school players around the state. Players can choose who they want to play with and what coach they would like to learn from for the day. The goal for these practices/scrimmages is for payers to get experience working with new coaches and to have fun playing with different teams. It is $10 for the season to cover the cost of renting the field

OTHER INFO

Although we will not have practice this week, I still would like everyone to show up to Riverside Park this Wednesday and get some scrimmage time with other teams! I will not be able to attend this Wednesday, but I will be coaching every Wednesday afterwards

I am currently working on new jersey designs for the spring season. Jersey kits have typically cost $80-$90 in the past. I will try to have designs finalized in a few weeks. Tournaments fees will cost around $25-$40 per player. There shouldn’t be any other fees for this season, but if that changes I inform you all as quickly as possible

If you have any other questions or want to clarify anything please reach out to me directly. I will do my best to answer as quick as possible. I will be a full-time student at the University of Utah this semester, and I will be playing on their ultimate team, so it may take me a day or two to respond. I have no assistant coaches this year, so thank you in advance for your patience as I try juggle Alliance, school, a job, the Utes team, and a teaching aid position this fall. The easiest way to contact me is through text, 208-901-2327. I also regularly check my email, nate.reavy@hotmail.com

Let’s get EXCITED Alliance! This is going to be a great year of ultimate!
